World's Most Ugly, Amazing, Weird, and Sometimes Even Cute Animals

I searched and searched different web sites and found some of the most different looking creatures around.

I was going to say they were the ugliest animals, but God made all creatures--no matter how weird looking they

are. Anyway, what I think is ugly might be cute to some of you, but I really don't think anyone would argue that

they are definitely different looking! Below You will see pictures of the different animals. You will be amamzed!

The first animal I think is worth mentioning is the Sphynx Cat. It is rather odd 

looking because it has no fur or whiskers. Some sites I visited said they have VERY 

little, but it must be very little because I sure don't see any! According to other 

sites, these are very loving animals and love to cuddle with each other and with humans. 

I don't know about that--the look kind of creepy to me. I'm sure they are loving though. 

The first picture is of a kitten Sphynx about 2 weeks old. If you look at it for a few 

minutes it is cute--in it's own sort of way. They are quite wrinkly and it's kind of odd

to me that they are pink and brown. I thought they might outgrow that, but in the next 

picture of the adult Sphynx Cat, you will see that it's still pink and brown, just not so

wrinkly. As you can see, it's a bit bigger, still pink and brown and a little bit creepier

looking. Another thing about these cats is that it seems as though their ears get really

big. Maybe it's because they don't have fur an it makes it appear this way? Well, if you

think that's creepy, take a look under the Sphynx! There you will see a dog named Sam.

Sam was named as the World's Ugliest Dog for three years in a row. He is really scary 

looking to me! I guess looks can be deceiving though because this site (msnbc.com) says

he was a very friendly dog. He died when he was 14 right before his 15th birthday. If 

you go on YouTube, you can even watch the video of the ugliest dog contest at the 

Somona-Marin Fair. They have lots of dogs with unfortunate looks. I'm sure in that 

County there are a lot of scared mailmen! (I just had to say it!) Poor Sam. I'm 

surprised he lived to be almost 15 years old! 

The next animals I looked at were birds. The first one I will introduce you to is named

Oscar. She is right under the pic of Sam. She has a virus called the Beak and Feather 

Disease which caused her to pull out all of her feathers. When birds are diagnosed with

this disease they are given 6 months to live. Oscar was given this diagnosis 12 years 

ago. Pretty amazing huh? Well, not as amazing as the next bird you will meet!

Take a look at Mike's picture (right under Oscar). Look at him closely and tell me what 

you see. To make it easier... tell me what you DON'T see. 

That's right! His head is missing! Now I will admit that I thought this was just a joke. 

I thought no way is this chicken living without his head. But it's true! You can look it 

up on the Wikipedia encyclopedia. I read a story that amazed me. Mike's owner had went 

out to cut his head off for a meal. Unfortunately--or fortunately depending on how you 

look at it--the owner missed Mike's jugular vein and his brain stem, which is responsible 

for the basics to live. So his owner kept him alive by feeding him with an eye dropper. 

Mike strutted all over different side shows and such making his owner some extra money. 

Mike lived this way for 18 months! Unbelievable! I don't know about you out there, but 

after I had cut off a chicken's head and he still walked around I'd be scared that this 

chicken was haunting me! It would have had to have been bye-bye birdie--one way or 

another! To make this even creepier, so the story goes, that Mike slept with his head 

under his wing that first night! UGH! 

OK--now that we will all have nightmares forever.....go ahead and take a look under Mike 

at an almost cute little creature. This animal is called an Aye Aye. They live in 

Madagascar. It kind of reminds me of Albert Einstein with the hair and all. It is 

strange looking at first but after you look at it for a minute, it almost seems cute. I 

think my kids have some stuffed animals that ended up looking like this little thing.

The next creature to have a look at is a fish that is kind of cute. It even looks sad, 

like it lost it's best friend. It's called a Blob Fish. I think it looks like Ziggy. At 

the very least he looks like an old man. When I first saw his picture, I thought the 

little thing that appears to hang out of his mouth was just part of his look. After 

reading a bit about him, I found out that it's a parasite attached to him. Maybe that's 

why he looks so sad.

The last two pictures are really interesting to me. They are two-headed turtles. They are

so neat! I had seen one on David Letterman a few months back with "Jungle Jack Hannah".

appears on. It's really interesting--not to mention quite comical! The first picture of 

the turtles is one that was found in China. They are so cute! Right under them is a 

picture of one that was stolen from a pet store in New York. I found an article about it 

in the New York Times.  I really hope whoever took it knows how to take care of it. What 

people won't do! 

Well, that's all the animals I have right now. There are tons more to look up. God made 

so many creatures out there and they are all so different. If I had to pick which was my 

favorite out of these, I don't know if I would pick the Blob fish or the two-headed 

turtle. Which do you guys out there think are most interesting? For sure, Mike the 

headless chicken is most disturbing to me! 

Yes, animals are truly interesting. They come in all kinds of shapes an sizes. Some are 

ugly, some cute, others are strange and then there are those who are extremely bizarre, 

but we are all on this earth together. Go ahead and look some up--you'll be amazed!
